A LOOK BACK:
A year of
transformation
Transformation was our keyword for 2017, which saw us embarking on several new projects across the globe to help our clients rethink their strategy for the future. Among some of the highlights include:
- Exploring next-generation banking and financial services
- Moving into our new home at Bestyrerboligen (yay!)
- Developing new strategy tools — Industry Shifts Map, Innovation Strategy, custom tools developed for the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Center.
2017 has been an awesome year.
Here are a few highlights:
Rita McGrath Strategy Masterclass
In May this year, we were privileged to host one of the world’s leading strategy thinkers — Rita McGrath — and member of our advisory board for a senior executive masterclass to help drive innovation and transformation in Norwegian companies, right here in Stavanger.
During the Masterclass, leading Norwegian companies explored the Three Stages of Innovation, Discovery-Driven Planning, as well as the Innovation Maturity Scale. Read the executive summary here.
4 New Executive Education Programs
To build strategies that are fit for the future, you need new leadership skills, new organizational processes and even faster business model innovation.
To address this need, we spent a significant portion of our time in 2017 developing four new executive education programs — Corporate Entrepreneurship, Accelerating Innovation, Business Model Innovation in the Green Economy, and Leading the Clean and Smart Revolution.
The three-day programs are tailored for the busy executive, designed to be short but packed with powerful learning around the latest thinking in strategy, innovation and change.
Using up-to-date case studies to provide both deep insights and actionable learning, the programs are true «action learning programs».
Business Innovation Bootcamp, Malaysia
In August, our team — Christian Rangen, Holger Nils Pohl, and Jolene Foo — flew over to Kuala Lumpur to run two 2-day Business Innovation Bootcamps together with our partner Tenaga Nasional Berhad. The bootcamps saw over 200 participants from across the utility, logistics, banking, automobile and innovation sectors — all with the goal of accelerating transformation.
IMWorld 2017 in Bucharest, Romania
Christian Rangen delivered a keynote to more than 8,000 business visitors gathered at IMWorld in Bucharest, Romania, all looking for faster innovation in a digital world.
Zigurat Digital Business Global Master
We have also been developing part of the Digital Business Global Master program together with the Zigurat Innovation and Technology Business School, in collaboration with IBM, Sabis, Elogia, Setesca, the German Tech Entrepreneurship Center, and more.
The Master program aims to help professionals and companies implement digital transformation into organizations, across all company structures and levels.
Christian Rangen will be teaching some modules during the 6-month Master program which commences in February 2018.
New Strategy Tools
A core part of our work has been developing new strategy tools to facilitate an organization’s transformation process.
This year, beyond what we’ve custom designed for clients, we’ve also developed two new tools, the Industry Shifts Map and Innovation Strategy.
Together, they help map out the early warning signs of impending industry shifts, and identify how you can develop and implement a company-wide innovation strategy.
Malaysian Innovation Superclusters for Future Economies
Over the past months, we’ve been working closely with the leadership team from the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) on their strategy to drive long-term impact in ASEAN and beyond.
We’re honored to see our work around Malaysian Innovation Superclusters announced on stage by the Malaysian Prime Minister as well as the CEO of MaGIC at the Global Entrepreneurship Community Summit on 12th and 13th of December.
